The 4m2 Gallery is an art space curated by the Art History Society. The space has a double nature, physical and virtual, bridged by the idea of creation.
The space creates a parallel between the creation of contemporary art and the development of new research. Contemporary artworks are surrounded by the history of art, juxtaposing the past and the present, just like new research is generated every day from, and among, past research. Just like a library preserves the work of scholars throughout time, the online Gallery keeps memory of past exhibitions, transforming them into virtual experiences, ready to be visited, just like books. In this context, the Gallery differentiates itself for its commitment to bringing art in the space of people.
The 4m2 Gallery is a place where the mind is engaged and alive. In line with this idea, the Gallery introduces the viewer to a slow, dense viewing experience in which the focus is on a single installation at a time.
